Advice on Chainrings

Hi,
I'm going to be putting on a Shimano FC-M521 chainset onto my montague paratrooper folding commuting biking but need to replace the chainrings.
Speaking from the existing chainset what id like to do is loose the smallest cog 22T and move everything down i.e. smallest cog will now be 32T and middle will be 42T (or there abouts) and then have a bash guard on the top ring.... reason for this is when the bike folds it sits on the top chain ring so id like to have a bash guard in its place and i never use the 22T anyway.
How possible is this?
thanks,
Dan

Very difficult with two big rings and a bash - they'd all have to go on the same arms.I don't do smileys.

is there a better way to go about it? id like a good range mainly for road riding so a good top speed the occasional hill and on a rare occasion hit a trail but still keeping protection on the top ring.
thanks

You might be better off getting a 28-38-48 chainset and losing the big ring from that.2014 Planet X Pro Carbon
2012 Boardman Hybrid Comp
2010 Boardman Pro Hardtail

and could I buy those rings (28T & 38T) and add them to the Shimano FC-M521 chainset? also any recommendations on the bashguard?
(btw if it helps im running an 11-32T on the rear).

so, doing some searching and going on this document.....
http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/EV/bikecomponents/FC/EV-FC-M521-2740A_v1_m56577569830637966.pdf
I could have the setup of
http://www.petracycles.co.uk/deore-m530-silver-p-5504.html
or
http://www.petracycles.co.uk/deore-m530-silver-p-5490.html
then
http://www.petracycles.co.uk/deore-m532 ... 19548.html
and
http://www.petracycles.co.uk/m665-bash- ... 21985.html
to make up either an 26/36 or 22/36
wondered if id be better with the 22/36 as thats the configuration that comes on the FC-M665 double.
does that seem workable?

just leave the chain on the big ring.
Black spire do a big ring bash. about 50 quid. search on CRC."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

oh right..... didnt have the right size on CRC

4 bolt 44 tooth and going from the information on CRC that would make it a 104bcd
cheers
