Moda bikes

Anyone out there ride a Moda? Just become aware of them and I love the look and they're British. Looking to spend about 1000 but could push it if necessary. The Rubato, Echo and Primo all look the nuts. Bolero would be handy as an only bike but is it as fast as the racier ones? And also, are the racier ones suitable for longer days out?
Any Moda users with an opinion?

    Hi

Moda make great bikes and someone will be along any minute telling you how they are not british bikes - yawn :D

My LBS is a Moda stockist and can order in Modas with bespoke components and i think this is true of all Moda bikes. Just thought you would want to know because you may be able to build a bike to your spec. My LBS is Mellow Miles in Horley, Surrey. I dont work there - honest.

I had one of these up until till just before Xmas when it was stolen i absolutely loved it. not the lightest but still very good and a very racy position. Wheels were good quality the only problem I had was the saddle snapped while out on a ride but that was replaced by moda no questions asked.

Thanks all for replies. Murf, I know your personal experience of this isn't necessarily going to apply to me but how did you get on with the racy position on the Rubato (did you race on it)? I don't intend to race but would like a fast, light bike, good climber but also one that will be comfortable for a few hours at a time (40+ miles).
  • I ride a Moda Intro, and absolutely love it. Started out as a bit of a harsh ride, but I changed the stock tyres to my favoured Conti Gatorskins & swapped the seatpost to a carbon jobbie and the ride was transformed. Not that there was anything wrong with the seatpost, it's just that I have a lot of potholes on my route to work! Very nice, I would recommend it.
    Boardman 8.9 SLR - Summer
    Holdsworth La Quelda - Commuter
    Moda Intro - Winter
    Planet X Stealth - TT

I had no problems with the racy postion i invested in a bike fit as well which helped. Did a far few 100 milers on it mostly hilly and it handled it all well i did intend to race on it this year till the buggers had it away. Hope this helps
  • I've been riding the Echo for about 2 months now, about 650 miles from commuting to weekend epics and I can honestly say I love it. Super stiff, looks great and rides beautifully. The only things I'm plannning on changing are the saddle (awful) and rim tape (white for black). Its worth mentioning it only comes in two sizes, small-medium or medium-large. I ride the latter, just under 6ft and fits me fine.
