Pedal to the Medal

Hi folks,
I'm new to the board, a guy at work recommended it as a good way to garner help with a charity bike ride I'm planning.
From March 17th for a month I'll be riding around visiting all of the gold post boxes from the Olympics for The Children's Air Ambulance.
I'm in the process of finalising the route, should be ready by the end of the month, so was wondering if any of you might want to join me along the way? I plan on riding about 80miles a day, starting in Lossiemouth and meandering down to Penzance in mid-April which could get a bit lonely on my own.
Let me know if any of you would be interested in helping or joining in and I can keep you all posted, also I'm on twitter @pedal_medal if you want to contact me through that?

Awesome challenge mate! Best of luck with it.
I could join you on the road around the Alcester / Stratford upon Avon area, work / family permitting.0 -
There's a few round Lincolnshire and I'd be happy to join when you get that far!0
-
I may be able to join you for the Gloucestershire stint, date depending of course.0

Might be worth contacting local newspapers in some of the areas to let them know what you're doing They normally love promoting that kind of thing, might be a photo opportunity too.
Good luck with it, excellent idea0 -
Cheers guys, sounds like I might find some company en route. When I get my route organised I'll post it on here. Got a team working on the publicity side of it already, so hopefully I'll be in a paper near you soon!0

Sam,
I live in Lossiemouth, so yes count me in on the first stage at least. I can also give you any advice you need on the area up here... cycling routes, transport, accommodation, facilities etc etc. Just tell me what you'll need to know and I reply with the info, contacts and links.

I'm back again, route is looking something like finalised, but in order to save money (hotels for 4weeks is a bit pricey) I'm trying to find people that might be able to put me up for a night? Sorry it's long winded, but it's a long ride!

Sam is now a few days into his charity cycle around the UK's Olympic post boxes:
______________________
On Sunday the 17th of March, Sam Levey will be embarking on the massive adventure challenge of cycling around the country, linking up the Team GB Olympic Golden Post Boxes that were painted in honour of the numerous medal winning 2012 Olympians.
He will be riding the 2500+ mile journey in an effort to raise money for the Children's Air Ambulance service. Starting from Lossiemouth (Scotland), he will cycle over eighty miles a day before finally ending up at Helen Glover's post box all the way down in Penzance.
According to Sam, "The Children's Air Ambulance is such a valuable, lifesaving cause, and receives no Government or National Lottery funding - so I am determined to raise as much money for them as I possibly can. I'm really positive that people will get behind the cause and support me in this mammoth challenge."
You can help Sam reach his target and raise much needed funds for the Children's Air Ambulance by leaving a donation over at his Just Giving page or get involved by spreading the word about his challenge on Twitter and other social media networks.
