Heard a whisper that a new model is due out possibly this year. I thought the current model was outstanding at £300. Apparently the new model will be supplied in WHITE and will cost a mere £280!!! Just wonder what they will sacrifice from the old model to put them out at that price. Carbon forks maybe?
Check this out. Brand new for Triban 3 owners.

Like you say they ll probably go for a alloy steerer in the fork.
I also think the calipers are high quality. having swapped mine out for 105, I ve found the B Twin O/Es where actually lighter and just as good.
I had to use sheldon brown problem solvers to fit sks commuter gaurds to mine on the front initially, having changed to the 105s though it now requires one on the back but not the front.
I ve heard a cheaper soloution with the original calipers is just to get a 23mm bolt from Merlin for the front.
I ve played about with mine a bit, but reckon the only necessary up grades would be, Swap out the poor metal casette for an HG50 when it goes. and put some lighter tyres on.
Having riden and owned all sorts of exotica I can honestly say this is the best value bike I ve ever owned, If they keep this spec and do it at £280 it will be unbelievable , I dont think they will change anything as they are probably just going to use a stock of frames from the flat bar version which was white.
Mine as is.

Nice! What pedals do you have on your T3 Tim?
Liking the wrap around led lights. Got them on mine too. The red ones blend neatly with the frame.0 -
There Shimano SPD 520, which I use on everything in the winter as I have the corresponding shimano Winter MTB boots, There a good pedal in there own right and I d recommend them to anyone trying clipless for the first time or alternatively the M324's to give you the best of both worlds.0

Hi everyone, been browsing for a week or two now so thought i'd register.
Any ideas when this new T3 will be released, or at least a spec list? Simply because I just got a quote on one for the c2w scheme but might wait for the new one to at least compare.0 -
I've had the 5 for about 5 months, when I bought it the guy told me there would be a new bike in June/July slight me expensive than the 5 but a lot more bike for the money. He never mentioned the 3, but i guess like everything new models are always just around the corner.0

Thought it might be of use to let you know that if you have fitted SKS blumels and decide to upgrade the original tyres you may have clearance issues on the back wheel around the chain stay. also I just fitted new shimano r500 wheels and needed to cut the front mudguard in front of the fork due to tyre rub, I am using gatorskin 23m0

Noticed on the Decathlon website on Friday that they're sold out. If they're reducing the price I can't see the spec being equal/better. Reckon I bought at the right time!
Congratulations to anyone who fitted full 'guards to the Triban. Even the rear was beyoond me!0 -

What is it about the Triban? You only have to see the "What bike for Newbies" threads and buying on a budget threads. Each and every one will point the OP towards the Triban 3.
Cycling mags have given outstanding reviews for the bike. Where else can you buy a road bike rolling with the kit supplied for £300?
I'd love to know how many T3's have been sold already in the UK alone.0 -

Yea, I'd be interested to know too. It's definitely the most recommended budget road bike, but in the 6 months that I've had mine I've ridden about 1200 miles, most in Richmond Park, and I've only seen 3 other people riding them.0
