Air forks too stiff after changing air pressure

I let some air out of my solo air fork, went to pump the forks and they have become super stiff with crazy fast rebound. I took about 20 psi out.

Now I just can't get the forks right, anything over 50psi and it is too stiff, where as I have been running them for a year at 130 when they were much softer.

What's happened to the forks?

  • has the fork got a valve at the bottom?
if it has, put some more air in.

No it's solo air, only one valve at top.
  • what happens when you let all the air out?

    All ok now.

I realised I picked up some dry lube with pfte instead of the usual shock lube, put some of the wet lube on, spent 5 mins pumping the fork through its travel and now it's fine.

Not sure why the dry lube caused it to stick to such an extent - they are old toras and will probably need a service soon.

    Thanks for suggestions.

Thia was the damper - the oil must have moved in it.

Moving the fork through the travel restores it.
