Hey all,

I have around 1500 to spend on a new steed, possibly a bit more for the right bike.

Preferably would like a carbon frame, Weight is important to me but also durability of running gear.

I am intending to do some sportives this year but also some endurance events.

I have test rode a supersix and loved it, but have also been looking at a scott Cr1 team and Felt F5, Oh also an outside contender is a Kuota but I have no experience of these.

Do any of you have any opinion or alternative options for around 1500....

Thanks in Advance.

How about an alternative that's away from the normal options.

Merlin are offering the Sensa Giulia as a custom build - basic spec comes in at £1369 for 105 groupset and Mavic Aksiums. But you can up the ante on all major components to fit your budget. eg you could either opt for Ultegra or Shimano RS80's for an extra £250 or so.

The Sensa Giulia came out well in a review last year

so it could give you some ideas for something that bit different.

Supersix looks great and everyone on here who has one raves about it. I see Westbrook Cycles have a few 2012 left at a decent discount. Might be worth a look.

The Supersix really is the one to have when you can get it for less than £1400.

Plus the OP test rode it and loved it. What else is there to say..... buy it already.
    Yellow is the new Black.
  • Hmmm...

Well to be fair I have been shopping around for a supersix and have a few options around the 1400 mark... Was aiming to collect this weekend but the snow has put a hold on this.

I am just checking that I dont miss any other better options out...
  • I can recommend the Bianchi Vertigo. Carbon frame, C2C geometry makes it suitable for the kind of riding you want and Campag Veloce which will wear in, rather than out. Retails at £1,500. I think that ticks all your boxes
    Pride and joy: Bianchi Sempre
    Commuting hack: Cube Nature
