XTC 29er Wheels...

I've recently aquired a 2010 Giant XTC 29er2, really really pleased with it, but want to get the weight down a touch and the S-XC wheels that are on it aren't in top condition so I was thinking of upgrading to the newer design and lighter P-XC2. These are fairly thin on the ground secondhand so is there any other wheel options I should be considering at a secondhand price of around £175 a set?
I like the bombproof claims of the Giant wheel design over a featherweight design....

found these weights online....
"front: 1036 grams
rear: 1215 grams
could be slightly heavier by a few grams as i've changed the stock rim strips with zefal cotton rim tapes."
and
P-XC 2.....weight.
Front wheel with rim strip ( without 15mm thru axle).953 grams
15mm thru axle 71 grams
Rear wheel with rim strip 1215 grams
Rear quick release 63 grams
Of course these weight are WITHOUT tires/cassette/brake disc/
Also worth noting, the stock ASPEN tires are nice and light but are mounted with 180 gram tubes.0 -
For £175 you only set to save a 80g grams. So not worth doing.0

They were both independant weights for the same P-xc2 wheelset. God knows what my P29's /S-xc2 weigh in comparison!!0

I'd strip off the parts and weigh them. Only way to be sure that it is worth doing.0
