Roof Carriers, another 'will it fit' query...

A chilly good afternoon,

This is my first post, so please forgive me if I'm asking the same question a million others have already asked.... I just cant find the answer searching through previous threads....

I have an Audi A4 Avant, 2009 with genuine aero style Audi roof bars, part No. 8K9 071 151.
All I would like to know is, will the 'Thule ProRide 591 Roof Mount Bike Carrier' properly fit on these?
I've found some webpages saying it fits fine and others saying 'nooooooooooooo, dont do it' :roll:

So, anyone got this combination or know anyone that has?

thank you in advance! :?

    it comes with fittings for square bars and "T" fittings to slide into Thules aero bars.

    got images/links to your bars?

  • Not sure if the Thule aero bars are anything like the Audi ones though (from a cross section perspective), probably similar but you want things to be a reasonable snug fit I would have thought which you struggle to confirm from pictures?
    I've struggled to find a reasonable online image of my bars, this Google search gives some images, not very close up though;

    Have you asked the manufacturers? They often know.
  • I sent Thule a message asking the question, twice, but I've had nothing back from them...

    Whenever I get anything roofy for my car, I get it off the roof box company. Their customer service is excellent in my opinion. They sell the carrier

    and I bet if you gave them a call they would tell you. They might sell them to you cheaper than elsewhere as well.

    Looks like the T fitting will be mine. Look like my Suzuki aero bars (made by thule)

    fit your bars and pop down to Halfords and get them to see if the T slot parts fit.
