Any direct experience on these hubs?
I've found a custom wheelset from actionsports.de with these hubs, DT Swiss xr 400 29 rims, and DT revolution spokes.
They say these wheels weigh less than 1600 g (though the rims alone weigh 900 g--really possible?), for a very interesting price.
Don't know these hubs. They're likely very light. Too light? Are they reliable? Are they appropriate for 29" wheels??

It their own brand hubs, I was after some info on them, general consensus was that they were fine, you're tied to Actionsports for spares, but shouldn't be an issue. I'd use them.0

Thanks for your reply.
So you don't feel they are too light? They weigh just 385 g (a pair!). Aren't they weak being so light?
I'm a bit worried because I'd use them on 29" wheels, that have higher momentum than 26er's, and somebody says they put more strain on rear hubs.0 -
Unless you're heavy/an oaf they'll be fine, I use A2Z hubs which are 344g per pair and cost £130 (which I bought instead of the Funworks ones). 385g isn't that light.
I'd really not worry about 29ers putting extra strain on wheels!0 -

Extralight hypers, 246g total for both hubs. Extralight will sell you a complete 29 wheelset under 1.3kg

Some bloke on WW tuned his Ultrahub SPD hubs and built them on Innolite rims for a 950g clincher wheelset (26", but still), mental!
That wheelset of theirs uses their heavier rear hub too. Ti spokes though... flextastic!0 -
I enquired about a Funworks hub form Actionsports (can't remember the exact model name) a few years ago. Turned out they were manufactured by Joytech who I think are a company based in the Far East and manufacture hubs for many people including Superstar.
Can't comment on the design but I'd guess the manufacturing of the hub is of a good standard.0 -

Virtually all of 'those' hubs are either Novatech or Chin Huar!0

It's a good forum to see insanely expensive bikes - it's the sort of place where people recommend £1000 wheels as spares, and think nothing of taking a Dremel to an XX mech! I'd take any advice with a pinch of salt though, most of them don't actually ride their bikes. The number of people with 7kg MTBs who themselves weigh >100kg is quite amusing.0
