Not long had it, first road bike. Love riding it so much that I'm thinking about spending £1000 on something better rather than wasting money on this one...
Is it better to have a cheaper frame with high end components, or an expensive frame/forks with low end components?
As I have Shimano rear cassette, if I upgrade wheels I need a Shimano/Sram compatible set right?
Is it worth getting campagnolo calipers to go with the levers? Better braking?
Is it worth changing the rear mech, chain and rear cassette to Campagnolo so I have a complete Campagnolo groupset?
The groupset I have is abit mix/match I have...
Campagnolo mirage 9 shifters/levers
Campagnolo mirage 10 front mech
Campagnolo front cogs
Shimano sora rear mech
Shimano front/rear calipers
Shimano rear cassette, Sram chain

Depends on how long you intend to keep it -
expensive frame/forks with low end components - is better for long term keeper and upgrade bits as they wear out.
cheaper frame with high end components - might shift etc a bit better in the short term but frame upgrade is way more expensive - but - if frame fits you well and feels ok then that may suit you.

Shimano compatible freehub if you want to use that cassette.

Don't know but wouldn't think so - see below.

Appearance wise defo for group bits (not chain though) but functionally I would say no cause, if it ain't broke why fix it? Still that said I have SRAM Apex group which works perfectly well and doesn't need changing but if I could afford it I would love Red0 -
Iwould get the best frame possible, followed by the best wheels I could afford then worry about the other bits later. you can replace the little bits as you go along/as they wear out but having a top frame is a better starting point0

I wondered about the Sora RD with those shifters when I first read the post but assumed if it wasn't working OP would have said that and that it must be ok with a Shimano 9 speed cassette and 9 speed Campag shifters ... curious though - does it shift ok on the rear set up as it is Riggsy12?0 -

I read that it must work because he loves riding it.
I think it may well not be performing as good as it could/should but it must be working.....somehow :?Yellow is the new Black.0 -

The shifting feels great to me???
If I replace the Shimano rear mech with a Campy will it be a straight swap? Thing is though, if I start doing that I might aswell replace the rear cassette and the chain with Campy???
I atleast need to figure out whats best for the groupset before I buy wheels...0
