Depressing to imagine that remuneration is the only thing of importance. There is no link between meritocracy and financial reward. Stupidity exists everywhere in a way that is alarming. Thick people progress because they are normally unencumbered with personal failings such as consideration, perspective and modesty, and are untroubled by their disinterest in facts, truth and the opinions of others. I support guys with learning difficulties. Short on wages but long on enjoyment and job satisfaction... Can't imagine why I wasted all those years doing a meaningless job in the civil service...
