Shimano gear inner cable

I can get Shimano gear inner for £1.75 each or Shimano stainless steel PTFE coated gear inner for a wacking £7.50 each. Will I notice any difference in performance?

    If you're not replacing the outer cable probably not.

    I'd have 4 of the cheap ones and replace them more often.
