  • Love my Rockhopper. I have that very same model...sort of. I realised the other day whilst replacing my wheels (after smashing the originals when I misjudged a double and plowed into the landing) that the only things left on my bike that I haven't replaced are the bars, fork, stem and brakes. That's it. I had the frame replaced after cracks appeared in the chainstays and Spesh were good enough to send me a brand new expert frame, even though I was just outside the limited warranty date. Excellent customer service! Everything else has been replaced and upgraded as the originals have worn out after getting on for multiple thousands of miles of near flawless service.

It's funny when I look at yours and then mine, you'd never know that they started off as the same bike. It's great how a well loved bike evolves and grows and ages along side its rider. If I get hold of a camera at some point I'll post a pic at some point.
  • Your frame warranty was limited? Mine has frame warranty for life! I thought that happened for every Specialized bike...
  • It's unlimited for component failures that are spesh' fault (if the welds are bad quality or whatever), but for just general wear and tear it's got a limit. Basically since I'd been smashing it around the Peal District for 2 years I just assumed that I'd killed it from overuse, which I wouldn't have been particularly upset about, but was extremely happy when spesh just replaced it no questions asked.
