So I've got a new cube but the store trying to sweeten the sell gave me free Specialized Rib Cage bottle cage and bottle.
It looks good and sturdy enough, but I can't decide do I sell them on and buy Cube brand to match or other generic ones which might be better.

So do you have matching brands on the bike, mix or generic ones?

In my opinion Arundel make the best bottle cages. I've got 1 Arundel Dave-O and 2 Arundel Mandible's and they are both GREAT! Very secure hold on the bottles I use (which are Camelbak Chill bottles by the way). Cant recommend them enough!

Camelback podium bottles (great) and Blackburn Carbon cage (V. expensive but lifetime no quibble guarentee).
    Yellow is the new Black.
  • Cheap cage in the correct colours of course, and I collected quite a few bottles from events around the Uk when discarded by competitors which will last me years - always cleaned in a dishwasher after every ride so the inside is sparkling even if the outsides looked sandpapered these days.

I use Cube cages on my Bianchi. If I hadn't tried them first, I would have gone for Elite cages but after trying them out with various bottles, found them to be far too awkward on getting the bottle in and out. I went for the Cube cages because they worked the best. Great design.

Feels a bit awkward having Cube-branded stuff on my bike and I was thinking about painting over the logo, but then thought sod-it, they're well designed and I'm happy to have them on my bike.

Paired these with SIS bottles. Seems to do the trick.

Tacx Tao - cheap and light as carbon.
As to bottles - whatever I collect in my races.
Dishwasher keeps th perfect for years.

I only have the camelback podium bottles for travel as they don't leak and are lockable. Great bottles.

Ridiculously expensive carbon cages from the US, which seemed like a good idea at the time. Really good cages though!

Bottles - either SiS 800ml or freebies from events etc. Just spotted (at Bike Chase @ Cannock) that SiS have changed the design. Still have the gradations to make up your mix though if you're into their drink formulas.

I'm considering to buy the Blackburn TI. About £37 I think. I know it's crazy money but it would match the frame

Cheap carbon cage (it weighs 20g, cost £15 and is absolutely solid) on eBay and a couple of Zéfal bidons. I also have a couple of 750ml bidons given to me by my LBS.

  • I use a one litre bottle.

I put a 500ml bottle of Lucozde Sport or similar Tesco/Farmfoods still energy drink, then top it up with water. It's never fallen out,it doesn't leak and it's obviously more convenient than using two bottles. It's made by Elite and it's only £8-

  • An old black wire one, generally with a MyProtein bottle. I have a Profile Stryke cage that I've been meaning to put on there, but the bike's too old for braze-ons and I haven't got around to getting a Gizmo to fit it...
  • Black and white bike, so black and white cages.

SiS 600mm bottles, only cos they're black and white too :)

I have just purchased white & black elite bottle cages for my new Felt AR5 & also SiS 800mm bottles purely because they are white & black as well... everything's gotta match

Always purchased elite cages for my bike, excellent range of colours & always found them sturdy & easy to use.

These are the ones that I use:

I went for the white and black as they suit my bike better. Come in a variety of colours though.
They're pretty damn light and there's give in the cage to allow almost any bottle to be removed and replaced easily whilst keeping it secure when riding on bumpy roads. Also, as the cage splits, it forms the Cube logo. Little thing, and not important, but you can see they've taken a bit of pride in the design.

The flex in the cage also allows the bottle to be removed slightly from the side, rather than having to pull out straight or slightly upwards. I've got a 53cm frame and without that bit of flex, I wouldn't be able to keep a 750ml bottle as a second.

Elite bottles and cages on the road bike, and a Bontrager side entry carbon cage and Scott bottle on the mtb.

I needed a side entry cage because of the rear suspension, no need for it to be carbon though. Just had one of those "moments"
