Feeling tight, diy sweat net ideas

Ive spent too much money on bikes and kit recently so looking for a cost saving idea.
I'm getting into my roller sessions but concerned about all the sweat dripping onto the frame. I always wipe down straight after but was looking at the sweat nets as a practical solution. Feeling tighter than a nuns chuff i"m thinking there must be some practical diy methods out there rather than forking out again this month.

Shoe laces and an old towel is my current plan, anyone got any solutions?

I'm calling it a sweat net but it can also be called sweat thong but i can't bring myself to use this name, though it has produced interesting google results.

But you have a legit reason to browse the swimwear section now. Explain to the mrs that sweat will rust the carbon and this is the only option.

Or equally just use a towel like any sane person would do.

    So use another towel.

The sweat net is not going to cover anything that a well placed towel will not.

Towel falls off, caught in wheel, death.

Better than if you were to die with the thong on the bike though ( unless you're a Tory MP)

Is it really wise to have a loose pile of towels on a sloping top tube whilst riding rollers.....probably bordering on a darwin award for remove yourself from the gene pool.....towel slips, towel get caught in chainwheel/wheel, sudden stop, meeting with floor or something a long the way.

£11 on ebay for sweat thingy, bollocks, ordered.

What is this top tube made out of that it can't withstand sweat ?

If you simply laid it loose over then yes, however towels have this remarkable ability.... they can be folded and rolled so with a bit of imagination you can secure it around the top tube.

Anyway I have my method and you have spent out on a proprietary (which you will find to be no better) product after starting a thread on how not to spend money. Each to their own.

Wear bin bags. That way the sweat stays within the bin bag suit and runs down to your ankles where you have a collection pipe running to a portable desalination plant and then back to your water bottle.

Means you don't have to get off to top up on water.

i use a hand towel and attached velcro at both ends. two lots on one end to attach to either side of the handlebars and one at the other end to attach to the seat post. works a treat.

Realistically does it make that much difference, if you wipe it off after? I'm struggling to see how a bit of sweat at maybe 5ph is going to do any harm at all for the hour its on the bike, vs a sweat soaked towel where the sweat cannot evaporate.

If you are that bothered maybe cling film?
