Hi,

I am looking for a specialist mountain bike retailer in Leicester. I am based up there 4 days per week so looking to do some riding up there if time allows.

Help would be appreciated.

  • Couple around, Websters cycles is the best in my opinion, there is Julies cycles, Cycle centre south wigston, and i believe another has just opened in leicester but afraid cant think of the name at the moment.

Edit: Im sure there may be more around as well, but those are the ones i frequent.

Yea there is City Cycles (Raleigh dealership) in Braunstone also. That and the two Joshyates mentioned are the ones i know of.

By the way just to let you know, I've lived up in Leicester now for 4 months and am yet to find any good riding anywhere! I miss the hills of Wales!
  • Don't blame you. Been doing loads of trail running out toward Croft but alas very little good mountain biking around.....

Yea Croft Hill is where i ride too. One of the only hills in the entire county!
  • Lived here all my life, and as of yet croft is the closest thing to a hill i have found also! :(

As to the shops, guys from work informed that apparently another shop has opened in Leicester? i shall see if i can find out more about it.

Another good shop I have used in the past is 'South Wigston Cycle Centre' its a small shop, but the owner owns another one like it in hinckley, and he can get his hands on a wide range of things - though you do have to keep on top of him as he has the tendancy to get to busy and forget about little ol' you!
  • Try these guys, had some good feedback on them but never used them myself as yet:

They're based in the centre of Leicester near the Royal Infirmary... as for trails, good luck!! Most hilly stuff is out of bounds, but Beacon Hill is rideable no real Red routes though :-(
