Anyone ridden a pair of Fulcrum Quattros - look like a pretty good alrounder!?

    That's what I'm looking at myself. Get some. The CX model has an extra seal, for a few more £ I'd get those.

    before i had the offer of some handbuilts I was thinking about these and noticed that the Campagnolo Scirroco 35 wheels seem to be pretty much identical except for the different spoke layout on the rear (ie like the difference between the Racing 3 Fulcrums and the Campagnolo Zonda wheels) but they are quite a bit less expensive. As an example, wiggle has them at about £40 less than the Fulcrums http://www.wiggle.co.uk/campagnolo-scir ... -wheelset/. There are some pretty good reviews on the web too. HTH

    I have a problem with a wheel with 21 spokes. A replacement rim will be in the region of 150 pounds and probably very hard to source. There are no other 21 holes rims available, other than Fulcrum... That might end up a very frustrating experience, if you dent it in a pothole or bend it in a crash. I would stick to even numbered rims.

    I've been riding the Quattro sinse Christmas and I'm pretty impressed so far. They are stiff when your putting the power down and spin quite effortlessly.

    I had planned on upgrading them but I might keep them on a wee touch longer.

    I can't say anything bad about them.

    Slowandsteady - does the stiffness translate into a slightly uncomfortable ride at all? Roads are a bit bumpy round here (like most places I guess).

    I've read a few reviews online from manufacturers and riders themselves. Some state that because of the Quattro's 35mm rim depth, the ride is a bit harsh on not so friendly ground. I have some 30mm Easton wheels and the bumps don't really bother me as I've always ridden deeper section rims as opposed to 'probably' smoother shallower rims.

    It wont be hard to source at all. You go to your LBS and say 'LBS can you please contact i-ride and get them to order a new rim please?'. LBS calls up i-ride and i-ride gets a rim. If it's a Campagnolo rim the LBS calls Chicken Cycles. Why the two wheels don't come from the one supplier I'm not sure but they will be able to get you a rim because Campagnolo/Fulcrum keep spare rims in stock. How do I know this - because I bent a front Racing 3 rim.

    I know... by hard it means often these arwe not in stock and it might take weeks to get them... plus, how much did you pay for your replacement rim?

    It is certainly harsher than my last bike but I don't think it's uncomfortable.

    To be honest it's a new bike so I can't quite define of its the bike or the wheels.

    Cheers - I'm quite heavy at 13 1/2 stone so I'm thinking they would be ideal at that price.
