This got touched upon on the other thread, but lets have a bit of fun.

Lance Armstrong: The Movie

This is what ever you want to make it. Your actors, your directors etc. It's not actually going to happen so lets have some fun. What is going to be the BikeRadar film.

My choices:

Director: Paul Thomas Anderson
Armstrong: Christian Bale
Hamilton: Andrew Garfield
Bruyneel: Mads Mikkelson
David Walsh: Gabriel Byrne
Linda Armstrong: Anna Hansen

You can top that casting and add some others: who plays Verbruggen, Hincapie, Landis, Ullrich etc.

(And as I have PTA as director, who can Phil Seymour Hoffman play? He's too slim for Ullrich)

    Verbruggen:- Brian Cox
    McQuaid:- Brendan Gleeson
    Landis: Sean Penn
    Millar: Gerard Butler
    Jeff Novitzky:- Jason Statham
'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'
  • Armstong: Daniel Day-Lewis. Would really get into the character

    Hincapie: Jim Caviezel
  • Christian Bale or Daniel Day Lewis for LA. They'd both emerse themselves in character for a year, that they'd be Cat 1's by the time they'd done, and have done enough dope to keep the LA WADA lab in business

    Kirsten Armstrong - Laura Linney

Olsen twin - herself, with sister as her body double

Toby Jones as The Hog (a bit short but makes a great creep - and Jones isnt bad either)

Robert Carlisle as Flandis (accent would be no prob for Carlise and he's be suitably deranged as appropriate)

    I'm crap with actors names

    Armstrong - Stifler
FLandis - Dawson from Dawson's creek
    Tyler - Justin Timberlake
    Chris Carmichal - Steve Carrel
Ferrari - The english bloke from Buffy
Betsey - Mila Kunis (just cos she's fiiiiiit!)
Frankie - Moleman from the simpsons
Hincapie - Ben affleck (in an entirely non speaking role, which is artistically (and satirically) justified)

The Hoffmeister has never played a role involving strenuous physical activity and he's not about to start. He can be Fat Pat.

I originally wanted PSH (who I love) playing the Walsh character - a Walsh/Ballaster amalgam, but the internet wouldn't allow me to divert that much.

OK. Philip Seymour Hoffman is now playing David Walsh / Pierre Ballister/ generic journalist (can't you just see him eating up that role). I'm happy with that. I love Mr Hoffman - he's fantastic.

    Lance Armstrong: Dana Andrews

    Hincapie: Robert Ryan

    Dan Duryea as... Tyler Hamilton...

    dan-duryea-04.jpg

McQuaid: Nigel Bruce doing an Irish accent

    Bruyneel: Edward G Robinson

Sheryl Crowe: Barabara Stanwyck 'cos my film needs a femme fatale and everyone knows Shezza was the true mastermind behind it all.

    Robin Williams: Ernest Borgnine

Edit: Forgot to add David Walsh, who would probably want to be played by Bogart or Jimmy Stewart. My budget only stretches to George Sanders. Sorry.

Sorry, my mistake. He died last summer, aged 95.

People still alive include Mickey Rooney (Peter Sagan) and Kurt Douglas (Van Garderen)

You do know that "Lance and His Yellow-Belly Colored Lies Jersey" is already being made into a feature film by the cast of Glee, directed by Andrew Lloyd Webber?

  • I'm drafting a treatment now. Got to a good bit where Betsy and Travis have just moments to escape from Lance and Hein's secret South American Epo factory before the explosives go off, when they're discovered by Big George. I'm pretty sure Big George doesn't raise the alarm, but I can't decide if that should be because he's actually a double agent for the shadowy organisation known only as USADA, or because he too, has always secretly been in love with Betsy. What do you think?

Well if it's JJ Abrahms you won't be able to see anything for all the lense flare (See the new Star Trek film) Michael Fassbender is a much better choice than Cooper in my opinion. I wonder if this will be the Oprah series of events or the Tyler Hamilton version. They'll have to practice Armstrong's "Not normal"....

As for Kriss Akabusi; why is he so funny?

As for Akabussi - if ever a man was born for a role.
  • Is the strapline for the film going to be "Awoooga, choads" then?
