What frame size ?

Bit of a silly one but .....
I'm a little torn , I'm looking at a new frame and there is little difference between the two sizes . Would it best to go with the slightly shorter too tube and more seat showing or go with the longer top tube with less seat ?? i can live with the head tube height difference regardless -the larger frame will mean a slammed stem ;-)
Will it make any difference to the ride feeling between the two ?

Generally go smaller - it's easier to make a small bike bigger. You'll probably feel that the smaller frame will handle a bit nippier too due to the longer stem. The longer exposed seatpost can also help with removing road buzz.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Probably. Larger frames can feel a bit barge like, besides the smaller one will weigh less :-)
If you get frame where the top tube is too long you will always struggle to get a good fit. IMO there is more scope to make a smaller frame fit you better than a larger one.
Remember that a good fit starts with your position relative to the BB and then everything extends out from that fixed point.Yellow is the new Black.0 -
I prefer the smaller frame as its almost identical geometry to my madone and I like a bit more seat showing .I may be slow going up but i will pass you going down !0

Maybe the crux of your problem is that you are between sizes for the frame that you are considering.Find a frame that has your height in the middle of the suggested range.0

That's half the problem , I'm 5'8 but I have funny proportions with 29 inch legs !
I'm going to bite the bullet and go with the small as I can live with 20mm of spacersI may be slow going up but i will pass you going down !0 -
Would generally agree but larger frames often have taller headtubes & 'can' be more comfortable - if that matters to you.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0
