Look pedals okay for commuting? Safer to stick to SPDs? Can'

  • Perhaps there is something in it, then. My shoes are similar looking Shimanos and whilst they are definitely stiffer than a normal shoe, and indeed don't give particularly when flexed, they're definitely of the 'commuting' persuasion. I can't say I've had any problems with them on account of that, but it would be interesting to directly compare with some carbon soled racing shoes.
  • Does it matter which Look cleats fit which Look pedals, and if so how can you tell? :?:

I commute 15 miles in each direction and fairly recently switched from SPD to Keo. I had a lot more confidence on the SPDs especially clipping back in at traffic lights. I've skidded off the Keos trying to clip in and it has caused me quite an increase in anxiety when moving off from a stop at lights and junctions with traffic behind me. It takes some practice - more than I would have anticipated. Other than that, I wouldn't say there is any change in performance but I feel more like a roadie!
