I'm considering swapping out my current 2008 Giant XTC frame for a Saracen kili flyer frame of the same size. I fancy a swap over to steel. A bit open ended i know but could i have your opinions please??
Cheers in advance

Why steel? Is always heavier, and doesn't always give these fabled ride qualities people go on about. I'd at least test one first.0

weight wise, yes, ive worked it out to be approx 0.5 kilo heavier. It was really for the better ride quality. The XTC is very stiff and choppy. I'm hoping that the kili may give that flexier softer feel.0

More lika a kilo heavier, the Kili Flyer cromo is a whopping 2.6kg for the medium. Which is quite frankly ridiculous, especially given the price.
If you want a steel frame that is known for the softer ride feel then the charge duster. Less than half the price, and 500g lighter.

I can never tell the difference between alloy and steel... Get a frame with good geometry, that'll make loads more difference.0
