Rear derailleur into new frame

Another blooming problem.... Getting a bit sick of things not just working now!
Trying to screw the rear derailleur into my new frame (it doesn't have a replaceable hanger.) It threads in a bit, but stiffens up as I screw it in, eventually stopping maybe half way in. I doubt I can screw it all the way and I don't want to put loads of pressure on and knacker the threads. What do I do!?

Try and thread it into the back of the hanger - might clean the threads up a bit. But be careful! If in doubt, have the threads chased.0

I'll try it t'other way tomorrow. Is having the thread chased something the lbs will do?0
