Merida TFS600 frame

Been looking for a new cheap frame to replace my Scott aspect frame, spotted this on ebay, is it any good though, use is XC only.

It's not too bad - a mid weight XC frame, but £150 for it in total, plus taxes makes it a bit steep.
I'd be looking at this:

I forgot about the taxes, I did look at the Malt but was put off by the colour if I'm honest but I could always get it repainted. Wasn't keen on the Triplebutted after seeing one just seemed dated with the V brake mounts. I was really after the Cube frames at Bike Discount but they don't have any smaller frames left.0

Just hack the V posts off. At less than 3.5lbs for the medium, is a superb weight for the price, plus the good butted tubing.0

Hmm a Malt 3 though could be an option for only a little bit more money0

I suppose I could just do the same to my Scott frame and just buy new forks0
