Shorts not Hot pants

Hi, i`m looking to buy a pair of bibshorts that are not cut like hotpants. Some are just to short in the leg, I am looking for a pair that are cut to just above the knee, any advice welcome. Cheers.

Well it depends how long your thighs are. None of my bibshorts are cut like hotpants, and to be honest, I've never seen any that are. You sure you've not been looking in the teenage girl section of Primark?

Are you sure you are looking at the right size?

I am fairly tall (just over 6'2") and my pair of Large Altura shorts finish less than 2" above my knee so certainly not like hot pants. Just like Careca, I don't think I have ever seen any cycling shorts that I thought were really short.

Assos do 2 leg lengths in some of their bibs.

Buy once, be happy - be cheap and be sad.

Thanks for the replies, the Assos are probabley out of my price range. I will check out the Altura then get myself off to Primark! Cheers.

Based upon my experience, to get a comfortable waist with my chunky midsection, that means a larger size so the leg grippers are just above my knees. I suspect you might be a lucky person with a very thin waist in which case you;re wearing a smaller size with correspondingly short legs

I have long femurs and have found pearl izumi bibs to be a bit better, although not as long ans you probably want.

Thanks again, when i went to Brian Rourkes for my bike fit, he mentioned that i have long femurs, maybe this is the problem. I will check out the Pearl Izumi shorts. Cheers.

If you have very long legs a pair of 3/4 length bibs might do the trick and sit just above the knee.
