Difference in comfort between Defy range?

Been looking at cyclocross as a first road bike but my commute is less than 2 miles each way and i'm only going to ride on roads and mostly for fitness. Thought i'd take a look at the Giant Defy range as they're supposed to be beginner friendly. My LBS only had the Defy 1 in stock so i took it out and found it really harsh and uncomfortable. Would a Defy 2 or 3 be any more comfortable?

No, the frame is the same, you won't get much comfier than a defy, I take it was the right size for you?

Yeah the size was right. It must be a case of being new to road bikes. I really like the look and spec of the Defys. I think i'll have a longer test ride to see how things go.
