Sheer torture

I've bought a lovely carbon bike from the good people at Rose and had the note on Wednesday to say it has been despatched.
But according to DHL's tracker, it has not moved for more than 48 hours. All of its Di2, Ksyrium Elite loveliness is sitting in a box in a warehouse in Cologne. I know this because I am checking the tracker roughly every 20 minutes.
I've been out on my existing bike and it's okay but I get the feeling that the new one will be better.
Anybody got any coping techniques for anticipation on this level?

I know that feeling whilst I was waiting for my Volagi from California. Mind you, it was here nearly as quickly as the Di2 took to come from Germany. My advice is just don't look - especially because none of this stuff takes anything like a logical route and it will just frustrate youROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

Just sit in a corner crying and rocking0

Just imagine how much fun you'll have looking at it when it arrives. Oh no, sorry, that will be counter productive0

I am also waiting for a Rose! Mine is still quoting 3 weeks which hasnt changed since I made the order a week ago...
If it helps I read someone on here say their Rose bike arrived when the tracker was still showing it in Germany, so you may be in for a nice surprise! I also read someone say they were quoted 3 weeks & the bike arrived in 10 days,
prob best not to think about it :-)0 -
Hi Muzzan. They initially gave me an assembly date of 11 January but it got built much sooner. It might be a nice surprise but I would rather know when it's coming so I can arrange to be in.
What have you gone for out of interest?0 -
Gone for the Xeon RS-3000 2012, seemed v good value. Might have been tempted to go for the carbon one but they didnt have any of the 2012 ones left in my size. Incidentally, was the sizing an easy decision for you? I had a choice of 53/55 & ended up going 53 wih a longer stem, fingers crossed its ok.0

All their models are really good value. I don't know much about the frame quality but it seems worth a punt. It's my first carbon bike so I'm probably not very discerning.
Happy I've got the right size. Went for a 57cm (57cm seat tube c-t and 56cm top tube c-c). It's almost the same as my trusty commuter so happy I've got the right size. I'm tempted to take it for a bike fit which I think might result in a longer stem.
I reckon you've done the right thing to go for the smaller frame. It's what the pros do so it must be right.0 -
All German bikes HAVE to go to a german town for at least three days no matter where they were sent from or where they are going!
I bought a Cube from chain reaction, it went to germany for three days on it's route to Portugal, a second Cube went to two different locations in Germany and spent three days at each one.
Enjoy the new bike, eventuallymy isetta is a 300cc bike0 -

having met you I dont think you'd want to go any bigger than the size you've gone for.0 -
I've grown since then. That knackered old red Peugeot I had with me then was 57cm x 57cm.
I am slightly apprehensive it won't fit properly which is another reason why I just want it to get here.0 -

Blimey, UN, you're slow on the uptake! I've had it nearly a year - the Liscio Ultegra with my own Di2 upgrade and some Pro Lite Ravenna carbon bars. It's a fab bike - quick but comfortable and it just looks amazing too. I love the disc brakes - perfect for this part of the world. My brother has the only other one I know of in the UK - ex-demo from Ribble, I think, for £1000 off.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -
I'd no idea Ribble sold them, didn't think you could get one in the UK directly. The new steel framed one looks to be an ideal winter / touring bike. Sorry for the thread hi-jack!http://www.strathspey.co.uk - Quality Binoculars at a Sensible Price.

You can't now - I guess Ribble got one to look at. Yes, I like the Viaje though it's not cheapROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

It's in a Parcelforce depot in Mitcham. I am going to collect it tomorrow and then probably get mugged walking through an industrial estate with a £2k bike.0

It's here. Pics to follow. Few sizing adjustments to be made and possibly a longer stem required but safe to say I'm pretty pleased with it.0
