I ordered my first road bike which is to be delivered at the end of the month which is a little too long for my liking.
I was originally going to buy from Halfords then was advised against it. Since then I had my eyes on the Allez 2012 with the carbon fork which was rated the best -£500 road bike. To cut the story short, the place where I ordered it have discontinued the 2012 and I have bought the 2013 model minus the carbon forks which I know is somewhat of a down grade.
I'm not too familiar with the nitty gritty to scrutinise bike specs so I'd just like to know what you think about the bike. Keeping in mind it is a £500 bike and not a carbon fibre beast. Thank you in advance.

I have the carbon fork model, I love it. It rides fantastic, almost to the point I prefer riding it over my Focus Variado 1.0

    Is it better than this?

Full sora, HM carbon seat stays, Carbon fork, inc' clipless pedals too.

  • My best bike is an aluminium Bottecchia with a carbon fork and I purchased a 2013 Allez to use as a winter hack. It's the base model so has the aluminium fork and basic Sora gears and is a really nice bike to ride. I don't think you'll be disappointed with it if you have nothing to compare it to and if it fits into a current budget then all parts can be upgraded at a later date.
