Cheers.

You need to paint the radiator red to match.
Otherwise, very smart.0 -
Lovely bike but what is with the crank?0
-
great machine, but isnt the seatpost the wrong way round?0

Looks like you are using 105/Ultegra shifters also. Beautiful frame though. Is it FACT10 by any chance? Yeah you should definitely change the drive train as and when necessary. I have that crankset on my bike and it weighs an absolute ton. It's darn ugly too! I'll be changing mine come spring, but unsure of what to get. I'm a bit of a tart so asthetics is also important.
You don't just have to get an FSA or Shimano crank though. They can be mixed up. I believe its only derelieurs and shifters that need to be the same brand (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).
Do you know how much the bike weighs?0 -
Very nice, and I really like the colour scheme.....thanks for sharingWilier La Triestina

Yep fact 10. Despite being a very stiff frame its really comfortable to ride even on our crappy roads in Surrey.
Its all 7900 DA except obviously for the crank hence thinking of DA.
Not sure of weight, will find out once its finished.
Cheers.0 -

Yeah then I suppose DA makes sense for matching purposes. Where in Surrey do you cycle?0 -
Usually found around Box Hill and surrounding lanes. Use Richmond Park a fair bit as well. ride with Addiscombe CC0

I like that.
I actually looked at one of them before I bought mine because the LBS had one with £600 knocked off it, 56cm frame too.
But being a bit if a weed I couldn't live with the standard double and putting a compact on such a Racey frame seemed to defeat the point.Wilier Cento Uno SR 2013 in Fluro Yellow

Its funny you should say that because all the other bikes I've owned have always had a compact on them but I did tend to run nothing bigger than a 11/23 at the back. The Venge comes with a 52/36, what they call a pro compact. I just stuck a 12/25 at the rear and get along fine with it.0 -
Personally I'd change that crankset for a SRAM Red one. Both the black and normal SRAM Red cranksets would suit the asthetics of the bike fine. Not sure about Dura-Ace in that respect though!0

I have to disagree (although I rant on about Red and the best bike has Red) - I think that if you aren't going for a D/A crank then go for one that isn't made by a groupset manufacturer - eg anything except SRAM or Campy: I think that it would start to like a bitsa rather than a bike where you chosen each component for its worth.
Full Red on there would look well smart though: the red flashes would work with the graphics and you'd save a load of weight as well. Sell the D/A clinchers and buy some carbon tubs - with something that cool its a shame to have heavy wheels (praticality should mean nothing on a Venge .
But that's just me.0 -
Have you tried it with tri-bars yet? I was wondering because more of these bikes are coming out and are rather appealing if they will take an adjustable stem (I want to sit on one of these now having tried a Merida Reacto today). Was wondering if having the seat forward makes the rest of the bike feel "tiny" as I found with an S1 a while back. Then again I never put either a longer, or adjudstable stem on, and I'm not one of these people who subscribes to "get on the smallest bike you can squash yourself onto" methodology either.0

Am I right to say you were riding this today?0

oh yes...0

thoose wheels fit a treat0 -

Sure was. Did you see me?
Upgraded the crankset now, FSA K force light 53/39. New T3 stem in black and bars going on tomorrow. Will take a few more pics when its ready. Been banging a few miles in lately and the more I ride it the more I want to ride it, its such a joy to ride.0 -

Tri bars... never
I'm 6'1" and this is medium frame-56. I thought it might be a bit small but as soon as I sat on it it felt right. A bike fit later and its perfect, just feels spot on. Stem is only 100mm so its not like I'm trying to squeeze myself onto it.0 -

I'm sure I did! South of London area, right?0 -
Yep, often around that area, where were you?0
-
I believe I saw you cycling through Carshalton road over the bridge?0
-
Yeah that'd have been me. I must have going slow for you to spot the bike....0

No, I thought you maintained a decent pace up that hill. Then again, I was on foot and it's hard to measure speed when you are not the one on the saddle. The bike definitely looks nicer in person I must admit. You were wearing black lycra also and is quite slim, right?
Do you live near that area then?0 -
Yep that was me then. Live in Sutton. Take it your local as well?
Quite slim now after shedding a few pounds in the last few months0 -

Ish.
Surprised I've only seen you once then. Usually I head towards Richmond park for a couple of laps but I'm completely bored of that place now. Surrey offers a lot more even though it's much tougher at the same time!
Glad to see there are a few locals on this site, too!0 -
I usually do RP at night when its empty of cars.
Weighed my bike today, 16.77lbs, thats with the new crankset bu with bottle cages, pedals, comp etc. Not too shabby for an aero bike.
Will get some new pics up when my man flu has cleared off.0 -

That's very light! What was your previous bike and how does it compare?0 -
Focus Cayo Expert from 2008. Really good bike thats now my winter bike. Very comfortable but stiff enough to race and sprint on. prefer The Venge but still enjoy riding The Cayo.0

Hey I know this is a (very) old post but I saw your venge and have been trying to find those Dura Ace C50 wheels in red. can you tell me where you got them from?
cheers.0
