edited January 2013 in Road buying advice
I'm buying a new roadbike soon and a friend of mine can give me a great deals (by norwegian standards) on these two 2013 bikes:

Cube Litening Super HPC SL (Dura Ace) 6.2 kg £2200

and

Cannondale Supersix Evo Ultegra Di2 7.1 kg £2350

I've read a lot of reviews of the Cube bike with stunning reports and thumbs up all the way. Can anyone confirm that this bike is as good as they say it is?

Cannondale is for me a "safer" brand to buy, and Di2 is tempting. But Dura Ace mech + 1 kg lighter advantage the Cube, gives me a hard time to choose between these bikes.

Great if someone can help to make my choice easier!

Ride both and buy the one that fits/suits best - so the Cannondale then :-)

What about the weight difference? 1 kg more to pull up our steep norwegian mountains.
  • What wheels are on the Cube?
It will need the Mavic R sys slr to weigh in at 6.2kg
If it has the DT swiss it will weigh more (6.5kg???)
It's still a good value bike at £2,200 though

Can you really get a supersix evo with di2 for £2350?

    And where?

I'm thinking a pair of C24 wheels to knock the weight down to 6.2 kg. A good friend of mine works in the bike business and he is giving me all the discount he can manage. Even though I'm not a weight weenie, the thought of riding a 6.2 kg bike compared to the bike I've been riding the last two years Cervelo S1 at 8.5 kg makes me excited just thinking about it!

Ive got a litening, its lovely. Very stiff bottom bracket and front end. A few people claim they are a bit rough on bad roads, i dont mind it at all. Can manage 100 mile days no problem.

Mine isnt 6.1kg though its 7.4 2011 but with 105 shifters, 6700 crankset and 6600 brakes, keo basic pedals. Not built lightest but frame is super.

Slightly older pic - now with added new Arione R3, new carbon PX cages, zipp stem.

How's the Arione R3? How does it compare to your previous saddles? Thanks~

I had that SL xc for a while and found it comfortable and looked nice but it gave me issues with saddle sores on my seat bones.

I tried a Arione CX for a few months and the sores went. The R3 isn't actually as comfortable when i first sit on it, its quite hard but its cured the problems down below. You kind if have a sweet spot on it where you find it just works and I like the length of it for moving around on.

Also it looks nice, but in hindsight I'd of preferred a solid black one, they only come in white/black and vice versa.

Yep wheelsmith Gigantex on Novatec Superlight and Cx-ray.

Lovely but had some rear hub issues. Now resolved with a new hub built into them by Derek.

Now that is a tough choice!!!
I love the Cannondale S6Evo and it was what i wanted, couldnt afford so went with my second choice the Cube Litening.

I have the Cube Litening SHPC DI2 frame that i bought off ebay and threw onthe Ultegra Di2. having ridden 2k miles on it, now i cant imagine parting with either at this stage.

I know both frames are great and for me, the electronic shifting has grown on me...i would probably go with the one with electronic shifting but thats just me
