Thanks for reading and all the compliments guys. Glad to know I didn't build an ugly bike. Haha.

Mista Preston, I use a camera phone for the simple shots n also while out riding. The nicer pics are taken with a Canon 5D MkII, 580EXII flash and a selection of Canon L lenses. I mostly use the Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS. I don't do any post production except adjusting the exposure. I enjoy photography but really hate Photoshop. Can't be bothered to sit in front of the computer tweaking pics for hours. I'd rather be out cycling. :D

Wow. Basically my dream camera system! :D

Lovely!! Kind of makes my Carrera Virtuoso look pretty bland!
  • So much good in one thread but there must be a better saddle out there than the charge!
  • Been eagerly awaiting pics with the new ENVE forks! :D

The only saddles I can find in Malaysia r black, black and black. I was fortunate enough that a good friend of mine gave the brown Charge saddle to me.

Pics of new all black set up with ENVE forks, black saddle, black Brooks bartape n new black wheels coming up soon. Been raining every day. Waiting for a nice sunny day for photography.

  • Awesome ride!

What do you find the most comfy and forgiving frame, the Van Nicholas, or the Roubaix?

The Roubaix is like a GT sports car. The Van Nicholas is like a Rolls Royce.

Which VanN model is your frame?
  • Would love to see some recent photos of this ianho!

I'm looking into buying one... Would be great to get some rider feedback on it. What weight is yours at now? How does it climb?

It's got a black saddle, black Brooks bar tape, ENVE forks n Lightweight Meilenstein wheels on it now. Weight is 6.5kg I think. Haven't weighed it in a while. Climbs pretty good though there is flex in the BB. I'm spoiled by the 2 other S-Works bikes that I have but I can't complain coz the Van Nic is supremely comfortable on long rides. It is like a big comfy sofa compared to my S-Works bikes. Even my S-Works Roubaix feels like a wooden stool in comparison. LoL

Beautiful classic looking bike. In focus blurred scenic background photo of said steed, is the only way to personify the dream.

I love the Dura Ace Di2 so much on my Dogma, I bought another set for my Van Nicholas. Spent about 12 hours figuring out how to make the install super clean. I used the internal wiring kit but did an external wiring set up which looks a lot cleaner than the external kit which ends up with a whole bunch of wires all over the BB area n the battery on downtube which looks really ugly. I've hidden everything under the BB n it looks nice n clean now. Will take some detailed pics with a proper camera soon.

Black or brown? Lovely either way, let comfort decide!

Guess I'm the only one who, aesthetically, prefers skinny wheels with skinny frames rather than deep section, which somehow take the focus away from the main triangle.

Nice to see (entirely justified) self-indulgence with such delightful tangible outcomes.

I think I prefer the black. It's very close though! Such beautiful bikes you have.

Nope, you're not the only one! Anything over 45mm or so looks out of proportion on a thin tubed frameset in my opinion.

I have tried my skinny Reynolds 32 wheels on it. I'll go find the pics.
