Suggestions?
I'm using a 48x14 for track league managing ~34s flying 500m on this gearing.
I have 48T - 51T chainrings and 13-16T sprockets available?

Gearing choice will very much depend on your riding style and where you are with the Flying 200m.

If you’re still developing the technique and line, I’d suggest working between 88" and 92". Get line and technique nailed 1st before you go looking for times- the time will come.

For competition, anything between 92" and 98" but I spent years qualifying and racing on 90" to pretty good effect.

Don’t forget that this is actually a 300-350m effort (and quite a different animal to a flying 500m which is really a training effort) so there is no point riding a gear so big that you can’t jump, fully accelerate and sustain it and you completely die in the last 100m.
    I’m a sprinter – I warmed up yesterday.
