I have a Cayo which I had from new back in 2008, been a brilliant bike, still looks like new despite many winter miles. Its now a full time winter bike but I will continue to look after it. Hope yours is as good to you as mine has been to me over the years, a very nice looking bike mate, look after it.

Looks amazing and I hope it is... because I just bought a Cayo Evo Di2 :D
I need a bigger smiley really and a huge guilty one to go with it

I have been stumped since last Summer which bike to get but really fancied getting a Di2 groupset. Wiggle's offer on the Cayo and some very good reviews on it finally swayed me.

I have drooling over Pinarello Rokh's and Quattro's for months but they were too pricey, even in the sales.
Probably the Sky team success has not helped me get a cheap offer here!

I also wanted to go with a compact chainset as I will be taking it to France for a Mountain or two this.
This stopped me bidding on several good second hand 53/39 bikes on offer at Ebay recently.

    Morning all,

Had my first proper ride (25 miles) on Saturday. My first outing on a bike for a while.

Loved it the ride was comfortable, quick and the bike is very responsive so all in all i`m very happy :)

Good work on the Di2 groupset Gadge, although i had enough guilt dropping the money i did on this one. I think i would of been sick with guilt had i gone with the Di2 :)

Hopefully you will love it as much as i love mine in the early days. The only downside I can point too and its no fault of the bikes is my sore backside! However i know in time i will have cheeks of leather and that wont be a problem :D

Antoony, thanks and great to have a bit of knowledge from a long term Focus owner. Always nice to hear something you have just bought has stood the test of time for someone else :)

    Heres to many happy miles!

Sounds like you are a happy camper overall. Looking forward to seeing mine soon.
    Liking your white pedals BTW.

I am new to road biking in the UK but have done plenty of drop handle tourer and mountain bike commuting and always experienced a few days of discomfort at the start of every new commuting year (in my case roughly March to Oct). I have B17s on my other bikes but will give the new Focus one a go before considering changing it.

IMHO you should def use padded bike shorts on a road bike but even then you can expect some degree of butt cheek discomfort for a few weeks. Hopefully you will then toughen up those muscles and you won't notice it anymore. If you still do, then that saddle is not for you!

Thanks for the tips gadge :)

I`m aware of the bedding in period of saddle sore from my MTB days, and i have padded shorts! Always the first thing i acquire when getting back in the saddle.

The pedals are Shimano PD-R540 SPD SL Sport Pedals, nothing special but they are very will priced on a few sites. So if you are looking for cost effective pedals they will fit the bill. Mine came supplied with cleats as well which was a winner all for the measley sum of £21.99 :)

I reckon it is a Rapha Merino....Any other guesses?

I noticed on Focus web site that if you register your new bike within 8 weeks of purchase then they upgrade you to 5 years warranty. I did it!

If it is not too late then you may want to do that too...
