BMC do some nice kit, gets you away from the usual suspects. For that money I'd be looking at Di2 too.0

If you look at the Bianchi v DeRosa thread this came up:

Bottecchia, Fatbirds do a lovely range. Went to their factory and they love their machines. Alot of pride in the product.the deeper the section the deeper the pleasure.0

My view is that if you have to ask, you don't need to spend the money. That kind of cash may not pay for the pinnacle of bicycle engineering, but it's enough to get vaguely decent frame, vaguely decent wheels, vaguely decent groupset and vaguely decent finishing kit (depending on what sort of bike you want, obviously, and a few more subjective factors); kit that's all worth buying in its own right...
I should point out that I can't even imagine being able to spend that kind of money on a bike in my current financial situation, but though you'll no doubt get lots of suggestions of flashy bikes that fit your budget, you'll get the best one if you give an idea of the sort of cycling that you do; one bike doesn't fit all and you needn't compromise if you have the money...0 -
At two and a half grand it's difficult to buy a bad bike, get the prettiest one!0

And you have enough change for some nice pedals and accessories.

A good choice pastey boy but I would prefer one of these...

Canyon or a focus Izalco pro, push to a few hundred more and you'll get dura-ace.
With those you'll get a lot more bang for your buck over your Treks, Specialized, Bianchi etc0 -
I'd echo the BMC recommendation. I've got an entry level one and it's better specced than any of the bigger names in the same price categories and boy is it a fund ride.
At 2.5 time the price of mine you'd get one hell of a bike :-D0 -
Spend a grand on a Ribble Gran Fondo and have two cycling holidays to Majorca.0
-
Canyon on order and can't wait, cut out the middleman a get more for your money.0
-
£2,500 will get you a decent enough bike. You looking to buy in a shop? Where are you based?0
-
Anything thats in the sale and that was £2500 and is now say 50% off a bit like my Saetta!0
-
I'd say keep riding your old bike until you know what bike you want. It's pointless me telling you what I like.
If you don't know what bike you want - you don't need it.
The idea of the ribble plus cycling holidays is a good one though.0 -

If cash on collection was possible I'd spend it on the Cannondale Supersix Evo that is for sale in the classifieds on this forum!0

I've got a Canyon Ultimate Cf slx on order for the kind of money you want to spend and I haven't seen better value for your hard earned to be honest. Just got a long-ish wait now.

If I had £2500 to splash, I'd get a Ti (even though I'm a big fan of carbon) with a modest groupset. The Enigma's look lovely.Simon0 -
or you could by a touring bike, tent, panniers etc. and have a whole new world to explore... Though you mind find yourself joining the ctc and growing a beard!0
