I know it's nothing special but I quiet like it :D
Basically i'm doing a London to Brighton Night ride this summer and our brief was to get a cheap road bike.
So I bought this cheap off ebay but it needs a few things doing to it.
It was involved in an accident and needs a new set of bars and tyres.
Can I get any set of bars or do they have to be a certain diameter?
Also i think i'll get a new set of inner tubes as well.
The tyre reads 700c x 23 so i guess i have to get the same type.
Is there anything i should be wary of?
I'm not going to spend much but we'll see what happens.
Thanks

Also check the forks have not been shunted back, out of alignment with the steering tube.

If you want to be a strong rider you have to do strong things.
However if you train like a cart horse you'll race like one.

    Lights :D

The diameter of the bars needs to be the same as the ones you have.

700 is the wheel diameter 23 is the width of the tyre ie 23mm, you can fit 25 if you want more tyre on the road and more comfort.

I know you can change the width.
The actual diameter of the part that gets clamped are thay all the same?
The forks seem to be fine. It was just a shunt on the left hand side.
I have a set of lights from my MTB and a wireless speedo.

I think i've just sorted it.
    I found this.
    http://www.bikeman.com/bicycle-repair-t ... -diameters
So i'm gonna check that mine is 31.8 and as long as i get another set with the same diameter the rest is down to preference.
    Width drop etc.
