There were some good offers pre-christmas with 20% off.. the best I can find at the moment is 10% off (Wiggle, ProBikeKit etc.)

But the 510 isn't replacing the 500.. so there won't necessarily be any special end-of-line deals.
  • Try Halfords (strange as it may seem), they are doing deals on the 800 so may have on the 500 too.
  • Given that the 510 is bigger and heavier and doesn't add a great deal, maybe the 500 price will come up?!

I'd struggle to see the 510 appealling to anyone! The design brief seems to have been to take the 500 and modify it in as many ways possible to make it worse!

If you want a bulkier, heavier, more expensive 500 with a blurry coloured screen that reduces battery life, then the 510 is the machine for you!

I agree, and whilst people are still selling the 800 for pretty much the same price why would you go for the 510?

Hargroves have black/silver one at £139.99 in stock.

They also have black k-edge garmin mount in stock. Just ordered one.

If anyone fancies swapping their black edge for my blue one? Doesn't match my new bike colour :D
  • I keep looking at this website http://www.satnav-discounts.co.uk/tomtom-go/garmin-edge-x00.htm to keep an eye on prices. Seems to be a pretty reasonable comparison site. I'm looking for price drops on the 800!

Best price I found for the Edge 500 with Cadance and HRM was at Evans for £187.50, I had a £5 code so got it for £182.50

Bonus was that according to the website it would come with the standard HRM (black/silver model) but when it turned up it had the premium HRM :)

Strange - that happened to me as well, but with CycleSurgery :( Gutted. Now I have to wear a nice soft comfortable strap instead of the hard plastic one I paid for :(

From a few things I've read I got the impression the standard one was more reliable than the premium one?

can't speak about the standard hr strap but I had an Edge 500 with the premium one and was getting ridiculously high hr readings as was another rider who borrowed it. gave up and took the 500 back for a refund. now got the 200.

The premium HRM has been fine so far but I have two of the standard ones from my running watches if necessary.

The standard ones are perfectly fine but I find they can rub a bit if I'm running more than a half mara but that probably wouldn't be a problem on a bike as there is less bouncing up and down.
