I'm having trouble hiring a bike in Mallorca for this April. Staying in Puerto Pollensa, but the two main hire companies there (Pro Cycle Hire and Pollensa Cycling) cannot accommodate me (booked out!). Looking for higher end full carbon/ultegra. I tried a couple of places further away I read about on Wheelsuckers, but delivery costs a little too high. Can anyone recommend another place in Puerto Pollensa that they have had a good experience with? Or perhaps a company that will deliver, but cheaply?!

Fred Rompelberg or Max Huetzler? There is a place in Alcudia as well but can't remember the name

There s a place in Pollensa town, guy 's called Matteus, was fantastic for me. Not really a hire place but he said he was gonna develop the business, this was March 2012. Cant remember much more, apart from I hired a brand new (200km) Moser 111, an he swapped the back wheel out for something with higher gearing, an he said " I'm actually closed right now"!

Hired a lovely bike from them last year, they also do rides out into the local mountains.

We used this http://www.bicycle-holidays.com/index.php?TPL=10121 last April. Not expensive, 115 Euros for 7 days and a good range of bikes, and lots of centres to pick up from
If you haven't got a headwind you're not trying hard enough

At €115, is it not possible to beg/borrow/hire a box and take your own bike?
Remember, you will still have to take your own shoes, pedals and other equipment.
It will be an unfamiliar bike that you will have to set up to your size and the brakes are on the "wrong" side.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

bimont bike shop in alcudia have new orbeas with Dura Ace on for 120 euros a week, and next door you have sport bequi he hires out williers for the same price. (Both are near the burger king roundabout in Alcudia) ten min cab/bus ride from polleca but then ride it back.
There are a few more in pollenca but they escape me at the mo.
  • If you need a high end bike, I would recomend Bikehead in Alaró they offer Cannondale SuperSIX EVO with Di2 Groupset.
