Hello once again, just looking for advice on what would be a good upgrade for the wheels I have
I ride a Giant defy comp 2 with their own PR-2'S. I'm not overly bothered about being as light as a feather but want something that will be stable and have confidence with. Sticking with 23 tryes as well don't know if that will make much difference.
Thanks in advance and hope every one had good festive period.

  • Interested in any replies myself. Not really looking to upgrade, but I have the PR-2s too, I'd be curious to know how they stack up.

    Fulcrum 3s
  • If you want wheels that feel stable, yet are light, 23 mm rims are for you... This is a good one and at your budget you can afford quality hubs too...

With that budget, handbuilts are surely the way ahead? Purpose built for your requirements and with a set of 'hubs for life'!

Apologies for the numerous references to my new blog, but I find it easier and more enjoyable to write there, rather than repeating myself on a daily basis... plus I can add nice photos... :D

  • Shimano RS80's,had mine for 2 years, done loads of miles on them, solid, reasonably lightweight & easy to service.
Should have plenty of change for some good tyres too.

/\ This or one step further, can get Fulcrum Racing Zeros for 595 Euros from bike-discount.de

I have had Racing 3s on a previous bike, excellent bombproof wheels, I am now using the Zeros which I got from the very same site, amazing wheels, bombproof, light and sexy, what more could you wish for.
