Not sure, but I usually put the route into somewhere like mapmyride when looking for elevation info.Regards

No, it's not possible in google maps at the moment, but if you've created a route in google maps you can export them to google earth and then view the profile of that route as per the picture above. you don't need to recreate your route.0

As above, I map my routes in either Mapmyride.com or at bikehike.co.uk - you can see gradients and elevation profiles. Then you can download them if you want.Cycling prints
