Hi I need advise with New Group set for Carrera Fury 2008
Orginal specyfication
Derailleur Front Sram X5
Derailleur Rear Sram X7
Shifter(s) Sram X5 Trigger
Rear and Front brake -juicy 5
Crank Truvativ Blaze powersplined

Now I bought so far:
SRAM X0 2x10sp Trigger Shifters, front and rear, black
SRAM X0 10 Speed Rear Mech, medium cage, black
SRAM X0 2x10sp High Clamp Front Mech 34.9, 38t, dual pull
For 185 Incl. p&p
1.good deal??
2.good choice??
3.What else I need to buy/change to make this gear works ??

Crank ?

Is it a 10 speed cassette? You'll need a 2x10 chainset of somewhere like crc with a bottom bracket that fits your frame. Cables can also be bought on crc.

Assuming the rest of the bike is standard - Should have bought a Deore groupset, a decent set of wheels and better forks instead.

Not really, see above for reasons why. X0 seems a bit pointless on an 08 Fury tbh. The Fury is a great budget bike. smearing it with X0 does seem very much like putting a Porsche gearbox in your VW polo though.

Assuming you've bought the correct front mech for your bike:
- 2x10 chainset
- 10sp chain
- 10sp Cassette

If the shifters are new, they should come with cables.

You might also want to upgrade your brakes.

As for what kind to get, well it would help if we knew your budget for each?

What are you aiming to do here? What's your ultimate goal for the upgrades?

I was thinking that is good deal so that why I got x0 the are from brand new bike so they don't have warranty.
I get:

Now I need to get crank our chainrings as is 10 speed system and wheels so Can You help me with this please to keep price low. I prefer second hand.

So I'll ask you again, what is your budget for each?

You say you want to keep the price low, and prefer 2nd hand. But you've already spent close to £200 on 2nd hand shifters and mechs when you could have got it for pretty much the same price brand new, from a shop. Or could have spent significantly less on better, brand new kit. So your definition of a low price may differ somewhat to mine.

Also, have you actually checked that the mech you bought will fit your bike?

Are you wanting to stick with SRAM/Truvativ for the chainset?

What size chainrings are you after?

Are you just going 2x10, or are you wanting 2+bashx10?

You're really not making this easy.

Chainest don't have to bie SRAM/Truvativ but compatibil and good for xo.
3.Are you just going 2x10, or are you wanting 2+bashx10? I don't know what is better for fast ride ?

Nope, you should have checked if it was direct mount, high clamp, low clamp. Not to mention, as it's 2nd hand, does it have the correct shims to fit your seat-tube.

Fast ride? What does that mean?

How does a bash have any effect on your speed?

Do you want a bigger top gear for top speed down hill, or a smaller one for climbing?

I sense an impending disaster!

Your frame is the same as mine, it uses a 31.8mm clamp front mech, what did the bike you bought the bits from use? Fortunatnely the frame will take high and low clamp.

As I said I wan't keep cost to minimum so what I shoul buy ?

Deore groupset here. May be cheaper on the german sites. But those brakes are brilliant! SLX is £140 more.

Google is your friend.
Shimano hubs use ball bearings, a few £'s for new ones and a few minutes to service.

So your replacing your groupset because it is rusty and the gears slip?

The slipping and other shifting issues may be caused by them not being set up quite right, or a worn out chain and cassette. These are the only parts that need to be replaced-you dont need to change everything.
If you do decide to get an entire new groupset anyway, keep in mind that if you put your bike away wet or leave it out in the rain, whatever you put on it you will have issues with rusting.
