From my limited (only completed 3 so far) but signed up for alot more this year, they've made it very clear that it is definitely not a race.

The aim is to get out there and complete the ride at what ever pace you wish, enjoy the scenery, the people and the event as a whole and get back in one piece :)

Which ones have you signed up for so far?
2010 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Expert Carbon
    2014 De Rosa R848
    Carrera TDF Ltd Commuter
  • Southen spring classic, meon valley riser, wiggle new forest spring sportive and the dawn raid sportive for help for heroes.

That sounds good then look forward to them!

What sportive's are people doing this year any of the above?

If you are going to push on, then your only racing yourself against time, you will quickly see that 95% of people dont care about you passing them (if you do).

Although the result tents are always busy though! :)

Not a race, you are timed but that's just for your own information, there is no "winner" declared.

I've entered my first one just now, the Evans Ride-it at Langholm in May. It's only about 25 miles from me, so it would be rude not to do it :)

None of the ones you're doing. So far I've signed up to the Dartmoor Classic, Jurassic Classic, Moor2Sea and I'll sign up to the Jubilee 61 when I'm able to.

As a relative road novice (after 10+ years mountain biking) these sound great fun. I'll have to look out for any that are reasonably local (Leeds)

Evans Ride-it at Leeds: here in February. :)

They are supposed to be really good, and are very cheap to enter.

Hadn't realised Evans were doing this one, not far from me either - will sign up for that
