Anyone else going to this? (The indoor one this month) I'm going on the Saturday for the elite race
http://www.thelondonbikeshow.co.uk/attr ... -nocturne/
Can't think of any indoor bike races (Apart from those held in a Velodrome obviously) I assume this will be road bikes with gears etc rather than track bikes like at the red hook criterium?

Does anyone know what teams/riders are attending?

Can't believe no-one on here is going! It's at the Excel centre, got to be worth a go....
  • I'm going on the Thu afternoon. Havent seen any announcement re riders for the Nocturne. Lots of rep from GB conti teams for the mens elite, I'm sure, and given that its IG sponsored I'd be surprised if one or two Sky guys dont have to pitch up.

They are announcing who is riding (to the riders at least) today. I might be riding on the Saturday although I'm trying to get out of it as I'm double booked :(

How big exactly is the Excel? I assume it will be quite a twisty circuit. Novel concept but sounds like it might be a bit gimmicky, a bit like that cricket thing they played under the roof at the Millenium Centre.

I assume you mean the Millennium Stadium. Although I'd like to see them try in the Millennium Centre.

Excel car park is pretty big, I think (And don't quote me) it's one of the largest in Europe, that's where they did the Top Gear inside land speed record isn't it?

A bit more info on the teams...

"Teams from Raleigh-GAC, Primal Wear, Team Hope, Wheel Base and Team Kuota will also line up for the Elite Men's Criterium on Saturday 19 January for this historic cycling event."

    http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/road/a ... ike-Show-0"

That track looks like it will only be in the exhibition hall itself, they are HUGE halls though

The likes of Graham Briggs and Dean Downing will put on a decent show
  • Does anyone know if this event will be televised anywhere? It would certainly make for avid viewing.

ITV4 showed an a hour long programme of highlights from the Nocturne at Smithfields last summer, a couple of weeks after the event. They might do something similar - but looking at the programme, I'm not sure I'd bet on it...

They have made the Excel bigger since Top Gear did that.

I'm thinking of going if I am free. I live 2 minutes away from the excel so it'll be a waste to not go!
