Buying Online EU countries?

Having bought once before from one German online retailer http://www.bike-discount.de/
I find myself comparing prices of the UK online bike stores to German quite a lot.

But was wondering since it's the EU we can choose from many more countries
Is the German market so big it's online stores are the most competitive?
Surly markets in France & Italy would be just as big?

Anyone buying from other countries within the EU?

Looking for recommendations please

If you've used any good online bike shops post links below German or otherwise.

Anyone used either

I've heard of others using actionsports (njee I believe) and they've had no problems. Dunno about the other website but I can't see there being many problems!

Just search a bit here for German shops, there are plenty of threads. I've never had any trouble from any of the 5 or so German stores I've used, and that includes warranty returns. They're not always as fast to dispatch as UK stores, but I don't mind that so much.

    I've used:

actionsports.de (good for wheels and Shimano)
bike-discount.de (good for brakes and gears parts)
bike-components.de (well stocked for pretty much everything)
bike24.net (a bit average but has good deals sometimes)
hibike.de (cheap for some stuff, but site is a pain to navigate)
and rosebikes (good for Shimano but the rest is very 'meh' unless you want commuter stuff)

There are a few more I know of, and some quite specialist ones for weight-weenies, etc.

Edit: Used Probikeshop too. They're pretty expensive for shipping, but have some incredible deals on more expensive stuff (frames and forks) sometimes, or if you buy a lot of stuff where the saving outweighs the shipping.
  • Cheers peeps for the reply

I had read/searched many a post about buying from within the EU; German shops do seem to dominate.
Just wondering if other countries can compete on price as well?
I still but from UK sites [even Wiggle] but look at the German to see if the UK ones are competitive.

    P.S.
I've been drooling at the wheels on r2-bike.com/ another German site

So why were you searching in an MTB forum about EU purchases after already buying some road bike wheels? Clearly you had nothing better to do! To cap it off we now have road bike wheels advertised in this page!

  • Actually searched generally before buying, found this, then bought at a good price. Thought I'd share my positive experience. You're boring me now, but thanks anyway!
