.. but I've no idea where to start looking for a replacement set. The owners manual and online specs (http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/2010/archive/15) merely state that the Trek 2010 1.5 had "Bontrager Approved, carbon" forks. No other details.
I've spotted some carbon forks at Merlin (http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/frame-forks/forks-shocks/forks-road-700c/columbus-tusk-light-forks.html) but they don't mention rake and I've no idea whether they will even fit the Trek. I have no idea if these forks are cheap but heavy or a good buy.
I have searched the forums (and googled) but I'm just not finding any info out there :?
Do I need to take the existing forks apart to get part details?
I will go and have a chat with the local Trek stockists but I was wondering what others thought about replacement forks and how to go about deciding which forks to get, what sort of price to buy and the kind of performance to expect.
I use the bike to do a fair number of miles (5,000 last year) and spend approx 10 hours a week on the bike, week in, week out. So I would be prepared to pay a bit more for a decent set of forks but not to the point of spending hundreds of pounds to save those last few grams of weight.
Cheers.

Been down to my nearest LBS (http://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/location/store/19) - they had some spare carbon forks lying around so was able to do me a really good deal on a set.
