My 1st effort at posting bike photos so be gentle with me :)

Got the frame off the forum in great condition apart from a couple of chips on the chain stay.

Built it up with a 'hotch potch' of parts which I'll upgrade as and when funds allow.

At the moment it has Record 10 speed shifters, front and rear mechs. Chorus 11 speed chainset and Centaur dual pivot brakes. The cockpit was 3T team bars and stem but the red stripe looked awful so it now Deda zero 100. Have got nice new Deda bar tape to go on but am waiting for spare part for right hand shifter before it goes on.

I love the styling and the way the carbon is laid on the lugs. The wife hates it so it's horses for courses I guess.

    Thanks Paolo,

Wheels still going strong and definitely better de-stickered. :D

It is one of the best frames money can buy... A friend has done the Tour du Mont Blanc twice on it

Did you buy this from Ross? (- if you did you got it for a great price)
Anyway it looks great, how well does it ride in comparison to a non custom frame?

Thanks, Yep I did get it from Ross, (and a fair bit less than he advertised it for!), really nice guy.

Have only just finished putting together so have only been on turbo with it. Can't wait to get out on road although I doubt I'll ever do the frame justice.

The price he advertised it for was already very low - you have a sensational bike for the price - well done!
  • Are the wheels Open Pro's de-stickered?

A superb bike. You don't see enough Viners on the road, definitely a bike manufacturer overlooked.

Thanks, No not too many about. Not likely to be many more either. When I contacted Viner uk for touch up paint was informed that Viner had gone into receivership. Not sure if that's Viner Italy but guessing so. Pretty sad really.

Yes, at some point I thought Planet X was going to rescue the brand, but have not heard anything...

I think it is the importer that has gone belly up rather than Viner themselves. Never easy to know with Italian companies.......

Your wife is wrong. Ditch her and keep the bike.

Tempting but I better keep both :D

I've got a mate who likes the 'smooth lines of a non lugged frame better' so each to their own I guess.

At the end of the day I love it and that's what counts.

if it was built by Marco Bertoletti, you have a great frame there

I'm not sure who built it.
It says 'Made in Italy' in lots of places, in different ways & languages.

Yup, it was the factory that went under. Peter Cole (UK importer) posted about it a while back- he's now importing Legend (Marco Bertoletti's own brand).
Lovely bit of kit, that colour way is one of the best! :)
