Powder coating question

I once read that it had a detrimental effect on aluminum frames, is this true?
IIRC it was something to do with the heat.

LFGSS is a better place to look for that kind of question.
Here wouldn't be a bad start: http://www.lfgss.com/thread17439.html
I'd imagine not though, given that aluminium always has an oxide layer.0 -
Powder coating 'curing' temperature is about 200 degrees for 10 minutes. Whereas heat treating of aluminium alloys requires the frame to be heat-soaked for a far longer period - unless the powder-coater got the process wrong and the frame was constructed from thin-walled 6000 series alloys. Most aluminium alloy frames are made from 7005 seriesMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

We powder coat at work using aluminium parts/sheets as thin as .9mm no problems.0

Load of bollards - 99% of m/bike parts are ali and they powder coat no problem at all.
I'd have no hesitation at all to powdercoat a pushie frame.
