Finally got back on the bike this week. I picked up a bad back injury in late October, this then gave me a referred pain in my hamstring and could hardly walk for a couple of weeks.

After 2 physio secessions a week since I finally got the all clear to get out on the bike, I have to take it slow to start with and not get to far from home for a week or two (in case the pain comes back and I can get home slowly and relatively quickly)..

So so good to finally get back out even though there was drizzle, muddy roads, floods etc etc it was still a great ride, obviously fitness has taken a hit but some hard work over the next few months should get me back on track..

Time to book up the sportives for the year :D

Good luck with progress - Don't know how you've coped for so long, I've only been off the bike for a week now since my fall and it seems like a lifetime!
  • Being out in the poor weather with the roads not the best will only make things better as your fitness comes back and we start to get warmer weather. Good luck with the recovery.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.
