Basically, I haven't got the time to search around too much so hoping the BR community may be able to suggest a good hilly sportive for me in June / July this year. Peak District, or Lake District would be good. But other places considered. Hills are important though.

Not sure how far you're prepared to travel but have a think about The Leicestershire Super Tour as an option - run on 9th June 2013.

The 112 mile route has almost 5000ft of climbing in it.

I did the 64 mile route a couple of years ago and that was plenty hilly enough for me at that time with 3500ft0 -

2nd year - getting a reputation as the hardest 600 on the calendar - 10000m of climbing over the weekend.
There's a very light pencil mark in my diary if I do okay on the first 2 600s of the season.0 -

Thanks all.
Cairngorm sounds awesome. If the boss allows me. Will hopefully do Beeston again, depending on the route. Will take a look at the others too.

Right on your doorstep if your sign in name is anything to go by.
4000m in 162km with 14 categorized climbs. Should be enough for anyone.0 -
White Rose Classic, beginning of July...great route from Ilkley into the Dales, now open for entries via British Cycling website. Peakepic looks good too.0

+1. I rode this last year and it was a great event well organised by Ilkley CC.0 -

July 6th - Marmotte
July 7th - L'Etape du Tour
Think that comes under... 'other places considered'.
And you will find some hills.
Wave as you pass by on the 7th.0 -
Peak Epic sounds good, although I was thinking of trying somewhere different. Someone had suggested Etape Eyri (sp?) over in Snowdonia. Any good?
Unfortunately, L'etape & Marmotte are out of the question this year. Would love to do Haute Route one day though0
