Hello everybody,

I'm changing my bottom bracket and chain set from tapered un54 to Octalink. The un54 is 73mm by 110mm. The closest Octalink I can find is 113mm.

Will this matter?

Thanks in advance

David.

Ps, I have a 99 rockhopper a1comp fs and I'm changing to an xt m751 chainset

Axle length depends on what the chainset needs for the same chainline, so measure the chainline on the ST and then find out what length axle the cranks need to get the same chainline.

What cranks do you have now? Probably not Shimano at a guess!

No, the original specialised forearm. Got the xt off eBay bit of a bargain.

At worst I think its a3mm offset, at least I hope..

Shimanos tech docs will give the axle length you need for those cranks.

    Don't guess look it up.
