Hi all, I'm kinda new to road riding. I've been riding on the road regularly for only a year or so now. I'm into single speed/fixed gear bikes, I think they are incredibly fun to ride!
I just thought I'd show you what I've been riding so far and also show you my first custom build, I'm very exited about it!
For a year I've been riding this basic Create single speed which I lightly modified, and made it a little more personal to me... I'm very interested in trains and railways so Filled my wheels with train tickets, I may do this again with my new build!
The end of a great day out. by FixedG3ar, on Flickr
This is my new build, Its been done on a budget but I think it looks fantastic so far. It's not quite finished yet, I'm waiting on some parts from Planet x. what do you think?

Both very nice, like the train photo.0

Blue and green should never be seen - well you did ask.
Also can't think of anything worse than stuffinf things into wheels.....stop it now!!!! :-)Yellow is the new Black.0 -
Both very nice, but please tell me you aren't going brakeless...0

I think blue and green look fine together.
I will fit a brake when I can afford to buy one I'm a little over budget so far. However I am quite confident riding brakeless I have done for a year or so with no problems and I've never had an accident. the roads around here are quiet too and I take care when riding, I'm not a crazy hipster fixie rider I enjoy riding slowly most of the time.0 -

He will do when he can afford to!0 -
Well, I did deliberately buy a singlespeed frame which has brake cable guides.0

Brakes aren't optional. Get at least one put on there as the bike is illegal as it is. If you have any accident on it at all - you'll be taken to the cleaners.0
-
Brakes are over-rated IMHO, what's the point in spending money on something that makes you slower? Far better to invest in some blingy wheels.0

Whats the point of brakes? If going at the current speed will result in an accident, then you should be going quicker to get past before it happens. :twisted:0

As for the blue/green, the purple on your walls would look much better with those rims0
