Just watching Attenborough's Africa on the BEEB.

Theres an Old male and young male Giraffe fighting in desert in Namibia. Jesus there right Psychos.

Forget Haye and Klitschko there pussies, if Don King or HBO want to peep up the heavy weight division I d start promoting an Old Giraffe (sly beggars as well). The Young ones probably got the same reach as Vitalli.

  • Just amazing to watch. Just when you think you have seen it all with wildlife programmes the bbc go and raise the barrier again. I loved it.

And the injuries on the old male which 'won' looked nasty!

Certainly makes up for the sht TV on over Christmas. The Beeb and DA really do make the best wildlife programmes out there. And this looks to be another corker.

That was a fantastic bit of film work. I had always wondered why giraffes had those horns. Now I know, that old male bull giraffe had a rump like a pin cushion after the scrap. Also thought the capturing of all the different animals at the watering hole was wonderful.
Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.

Wasn't it just. It doesn't get any better than BBC/DA.

    I watched it too.

One of the trailers has some amazing shots. The one where the lizard takes the fly in front of the lion sitting on a rock, sticks in my mind. It really shows how far wildlife filming has come.

The older I get, the better I was.

I thought the old fella played a bit of rope-a-dope, then made sure the young upstart "kissed canvas".

Ok, that last bit was pinched from Steve Bunce (I love listening to him). :)

This was one of the few programmes in months that I was determined to sit and watch and really wasn't disappointed. They are also what HD TVs were invented for, shame I recorded it in the room with the smaller TV though. The perfect answer to anyone asking why we pay a licence fee, it's just a shame each one of this type of series takes years to make so they aren't a frequent pleasure and I'm not sure how many more DA will be around to make. It must be an incredible job to be involved in the making of these documentaries out in the field.

You're right, it must be incredible, it must also be the most frustrating job in the world. A, finding the animals amongst 1m square miles of desert, then B, getting the right shot without the animal ruining it, running off. Must take months to get a 2 second clip.

Think Africa is going to be every bit as good as Planet Earth - which was amazing.
